speaking of growing up …

October 6th, 2008

This little one recently turned 4 years old and I have been photographing her since she was 2 weeks old! I think this session was the easiest of them all … maybe it was because her mom brought her t-ball stuff and she knew she would be able to do some of what she had in mind!

tag, I’m it :]

October 3rd, 2008

I was recently tagged by a fellow photographer, Jess, with the “7 Things You May Not Know About Me”. Thanks, Jess - now I have to actually think of stuff! lol

The rules:
1. Post the rules on your blog.
2. Write 7 random things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post.
4. Pass on the tag.

Here goes …

1. I went to 20 schools from kindergarten to 12th grade because I moved around so much, parents divorced, etc.

2. I started dancing 4 years ago with Selah Warriors, which is based out of my church. I absolutely love it and wish I could have started when I was younger.

3. The fingers on my left hand are double jointed.

4. I didn’t start wearing make-up until I was in my 20’s - and I still don’t wear it everyday.

5. I have homeschooled my 4 kids for about 10 years. My boys are still at home but my girls were accepted into a charter school this year. I think it was harder for me than it was for them - they love it!

6. I prefer water and rarely drink anything else … well, besides my daily protein shake.

7. I like to play American Idol on the Wii … so much that I have actually lost my voice afterward. lol

I now tag (and please forgive/ignore me if you’ve already done this a billion and five times lol): Mare, Michelle, Joyce, Danna, Amanda, Terrilyn, and Season.

Have fun, ladies!

the big 1

October 3rd, 2008

I have been photographing this little one since she was a newborn. It has been such a pleasure to watch her grow up - but it’s so hard to believe that she just celebrated her 1st birthday! Where does the time go?! Here are a few of my favorites from our most recent session together …

pleasantly surprised

At least that’s what I hope Mom will be after viewing these sneak peeks! As I was leaving their session I could tell she wasn’t sure what I came up with - if anything at all. lol Little Miss A had her own ideas for the day I came by - and they didn’t include photos! I just followed her lead, making the best of it, and I now have some new favorites!

I love when clients come back to see me because I love seeing how the kids have grown and catching up with parents like old friends. It was so cool to see these girls again after our first session 3 years ago!

new little sister

September 25th, 2008

I am a bit behind with sharing thanks to my computer issues. First it was my email and website, then it was my internet connection. Hopefully, this is the end of the issues!

Here is a new little one - just a couple weeks old at the time. She was such a sweetie and big brother was so eager to hold and love on his new little sister.

I love this one with her tongue - as if she’s telling me how she feels about being photographed! lol

another first day

September 24th, 2008

I received a call yesterday saying that my other daughter was accepted into the charter school my kids have been on the waiting list for. She was extremely excited about being able to start today … a bit nervous too, but the excitement was definitely bigger! She had really been hoping to get in since her older sister began last month. She is my social butterfly and hates to play by herself, so she had been going crazy with two brothers at home who have zero interest in Barbies or Polly Pockets. lol Her first words to me when she hopped in the van to go home were “I loved it!” :]

She was even more excited that it was “spirit week” at school and she was allowed to spray her hair blue and white (couldn’t find any red at the store last night lol) for her very first day! This was taken when she arrived home today. We were in too much of a hurry trying to perfect the stripes in her hair (as well as in her sister’s) that I wasn’t able to snap any before she left. By the time she came home her hair had faded and looked a mess … so I chose black and white for this one. lol

also visiting …

September 19th, 2008

Remember Miss C from my last post? Well since they were visiting from so far away, her cousin’s family wanted to take the opportunity to visit from their home in VA - as well as have a session of their own! Here is spunky little R who has the sweetest smile! Isn’t she adorable?

I have been behind in sharing thanks to my lovely issues (read the post below) …

This family lived in Atlanta before a job took them to Finland a few years ago. They scheduled a session with me during a visit with their family - and I am so glad! Little Miss C was an absolute doll - even when we had to fight the gnats off outside!

September 16th, 2008

My site and email were both down for a while and I apologize for any confusion and unanswered emails! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to receive any so if I haven’t answered you I may not have received it. Everything is working now - praise God! - so go ahead and email me again! Thanks so much for your patience.

Gotta love technology. lol
